Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters' Association (IKMIB) takes active part in international organizations in order to sustain the professional ethics and cohesion of Turkish export companies in the chemicals industry, help increase Export levels, diversify export products, help increase products' competitiveness, defend its members' rights and interests and help them form strong relationships in the international arena and support them to get into new markets since 1991. IKMIB efficiently and successfully represents the Turkish chemical sector with the support of the Ministry of Trade and Turkish Exporters Assembly in Türkiye as well as in the world. In the chemical industry with its 16 sub sectors such as plastics, cosmetics, medicals and pharmaceuticals, rubber and paint, IKMIB remarkably contributes to the Turkish economy and export and also adds value to the country by supplying raw materials for many sectors such as automotive, textile and food.

Main Focus areas of Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters Association are:

• Increasing the exports of Turkish chemicals industry, to diversify product range and potential
markets
• Analyzing trade statistics and maintain reports about chemicals sector
• Organizing national participation international fairs, seminars, educational activities and all
regional activities related to export operations in order to present the Turkish
chemicals sector to the global market; and to cooperate with all the necessary and
beneficial organizations related to Association’s goals
• Organizing trade missions and buying missions
• Research new marketing areas related to industry
